The human body has fascinated artists throughout time, particularly the extremities of the limbs.

Using the subtle shading of pencil on a grey paper enabled me to produce these life drawings of hands and feet.

I have also used pencil to create other works that can be found here.

Women are beautiful! From the variety in facial features through to the beautiful silhouette...

Capturing human expression through a portrait has existed for hundreds of years. Whilst photography has offered the opportunity to a wider audience, there is still something special about a portrait that is drawn or painted.

On this page are some of the portraits that I have created in recent years, including a self-portrait.

As I enjoy recreating detail, I chose to recreate the faces of cats in close-up. Those shown here are in pencil but there is also another that can be viewed among my watercolour paintings.

The beauty of flowers is amazing. But it is one thing to admire such beauty from a distance; it is quite another to see that beauty up close.

I chose to illustrate flowers using acrylic paint (see under acrylic tab) or coloured pencils. Each image is a close-up reproduction, rather like 'macro' mode when using a camera. This approach fits with my desire to reproduce in as much detail as possible.
